Stock Location of Trail Tech MR16 on 700

I purchased the Trail Tech MR16 HID lights to replace the stock headlights. I was a little disapointed when I got them mounted... they are too close to the front fender & the beam is comprimised. Anyone else have this problem?
I am thinking of fabricating a custom bracket that would eliminate the stock ft. fender bracket, and relocate the HID lights out further. Any past attempts or ideas?

RE: Raptor 700 Bar Clamp

So, I figured it out... after removing the Trail Tech HID adapter & lights (I am going to send it back to Trail Tech, the chrome finish is peeling and basically disintegrating). I purchased the TAG 1 1/8" adapters to fit the FLEXX bars, and relocated the ignition key to the left fender. The key is now symetrical to the reverse switch on the right fender, and looks sano!!
Now I am going to fabricate a new mounting bracket for the HID MR16 lights off the handlebars.
Pics of the project to follow. Here is the new ign. key location:

Raptor 700 Bar Clamp

I just took off the Trail Tech HID bar Clamp and put on some TAG 1 1/8" adapters. Where/ how is a good place to relocate my key? I am running the FAAST Flex Bar, and I dont have room for the Dr. D reverse switch. Otherwise I would use that hole to put the key switch...
